Working with Tammy has been a life changing experience. Navigating the work force through a career change and a non traditional approach to higher education was a daunting challenge, but doing so with Tammy’s guidance has made me feel much more secure about the pathway I’m taking. 

Tammy does a fantastic job matching you with a career pathway that will utilize the skills and knowledge you already have, while also guiding you in the steps you need to take to be successful in that career. 

Her desire to help comes from a genuine place of wanting to help people discover what they are actually capable of. 

As a non-traditional student going through a career change, I felt a bit lost in trying to navigate what I actually wanted to do. But I feel more and more secure in my new choices and career pathway after each meeting I’ve had with Tammy.

Working with Tammy was probably one of the best things that could have happened to me. When we first met, I was in a deep funk unsure of what I wanted to do, and Tammy helped me determine which field to pursue and to not do things for others but instead to do them for myself. She did more than just be a guide for me, she was also a huge part of my support system helping me through some personal issues I was facing at the time. Now I am working towards my bachelor’s in economics and might even pursue a Masters. To help me onto this path she helped me look for majors that would fit my interests and the things I am good at, and for choosing universities she did research for places that would have both the social and academic aspects I would need to succeed. Through Tammy I learned to not be discouraged by my failures and to not underplay my achievements since one of my struggles as a student was always being overly hard on myself for absolutely no reason. Definitely would recommend Tammy’s help to any student because she will help you in any way you need is an incredible mentor to have.

Working with Tammy was the best investment for my Masters degree. After encountering communication issues with faculty members reviewing my capstone thesis, I was left questioning my research and whether or not I should finish the degree. Tammy helped me organize the data and research I had already completed, ensured I was on track with fulfilling rubric requirements, and empowered me to finish my thesis and graduate. Working in higher education, I was discouraged by my experience with the faculty leadership for my program. When I was young, the idea of going to college was not a possibility. I grew up in a household, culture, and lifestyle that did not promote girls to continue their education beyond high school. My young adult years were a life lesson, my education was my goal, and my discouragement was my motivation. Along the way, I met a woman who started as my tutor and later became my mentor, and is now my friend, Dr. Tammy Pao. The assistance and compassion that I received from Tammy prepared me to reach my goals. When it was time to graduate from the undergraduate level program, she prepared me. She then assisted me with applying for graduate school and obtaining a full scholarship, and she also guided me on how to prepare for my career as a Social Worker. There were many paths to choose from on the road of life, and Tammy set me up academically, prepared me mentally, encouraged me emotionally, and allowed me to write a new story for my life.

I met Tammy Pao through a friend and was immediately drawn to her. When I told her how frustrated I was trying to help my daughter with her nursing school applications, Tammy assured me that it did not have to be so stressful.
